This book contains two short papers, ‘The Christian Concept of Sacrifice’, read to the Anselm Society in Canterbury; and ‘The Paraclete’, a talk given to the Sisters of the Love of God in Oxford. Bishop Michael Ramsey’s spiritual stature, his scholarly immersion in the Bible and his gift for conveying deep theological truths with clarity and simplicity are all manifested in these papers.
